Buying an MSISDN inbound SMS number

Where does one buy an inbound SMS number these days? We used to have a few hundred on hand just in case for development.

We’ve used ZimEpl now and again. £49 a month I think it is. I was wondering if anyone else provided a similar online-activation service.

When I do a google search, it seems everyone and their dog claims to provide the service. I want to activate the service RIGHT NOW though. I don’t want to send an email to some faceless info address and get a response in a few days.

I’m looking for a simple +44 MSISDN … or a shared keyword on a US shortcode, just to receive incoming messages for a demo system. I’ll give a few hours then go and buy one from zimepl I think.
