You may notice that I left off my ‘3′ phone from the list of interchangable mobiles. It has been sat gathering dust and synchronising whenever I hit the ’sync’ button on the Apple here. I am still absolutely livid that I can only access 3 approved ‘great’ websites.
I was walking past the 3 store today at the Lakeside Shopping Centre. I burst out laughing at their "surf the best mobile sites" branding on their shop floor. I took out my cameraphone and was about to snap a few pictures to put up here when one of the assistants in the back started staring at me. I thought they might accuse me of being a terrorist casing the joint or the like, ergo I put the phone back in my pocket and made a mental note.
The big sign there said something like ’surf the best mobile sites’. Something like that. £2.50 for 5mb. You can’t *$%^& access Google. I can’t even get to my £$%^&*()_£$%^&*()_+$%^&*()_+ gmail mobile.
I just… someone, somewhere has to ask them just what planet they’re on. Why the stupid strategy? Shame no one from 3 blogs. It’d be good if there was a Robert Scoble-type I could email just to get this out of my system. You never know, perhaps I’ll get an email from a 3 blogger.
Quick rather inaccurate mobile market overview, 8pm, Lakeside Shopping Centre:
The 3 store was empty. So was Vodafone, o2 and the Nokia store. Carphone Warehouse: Rammed. Orange was moderately full. Phones4u, totally devoid of people. The Link was quite busy.
With the market saying 'no' to Nokia's Ovi Store, what do you think can be done to change this?
