I had a note recently from Jiri Satanek, co-founder of Circletech to tell me about their newest service: SMS007. You may well have read about various secure SMS services — this one looks very much as though it’s in a completely different league! It’s been available to Czech users for about 5 months and is now hitting the international market (with Nokia Softwaremarket supervising international distribution).
As you might imagine, everything sent between your phone and the recipient is military-grade encrypted. However the SMS007 java applet also secures its address book — so if you lose your phone, no one’s going to get access to the address book.
I quite enjoyed the SMS007 comic-book story here which does a cool job of explaining what the service does. I myself am not on Nokia so I haven’t managed to try it. However you can check out the details and buy (EUR 35) here: Nokia Softwaremarket.
UPDATE: In talking with Jiri, I found I was wrong to say that SMS007 only works with Nokia phones. You get the best performance with Nokia, however it’ll also run perfectly fine on Motorolas (although there’s a slight issue with the Motorola java implementation that prevents SMS007 from making audible new message alerts).
Have been trying to get in touch with Jiri Satanek, is there any way you can help me?
Thank You Mary

Anyone that have used it? Is it secure?
