Skype vouchers on the shelves of Sainsburys

Link: Off the shelf: Sainsbury’s and Skype hook up – silicon.com.

VoIP provider Skype has begun selling credit vouchers at Sainsbury’s supermarkets across the UK.

Well, good luck to’em. I think it’s a little silly to go to the hassle of printing vouchers and faffing around with packaging, distribution and whatnot, when you can sell the stuff online much, much cheaper. However it’s a credibility thing, no? Helps get the Skype brand out to non technical consumers like my mother.

Er, actually, you’d need to be getting Skype vouchers into Waitrose for that. Good move I suppose, particularlly in the competing stakes between the likes of Vonage, TalkTalk et al.
