Smart Philippines sees 65% increase in MMS traffic after rate reduction

Smart Communications, Inc. reported a 65 percent increase in the use of its peer-to-peer mobile multimedia messaging service (MMS) since it pared down its rates from P5 per send to P1 for Smart-to-Smart users and P2 per MMS for Smart to other operators at the beginning of the month

What a result! I hope other mobile operators are reading….

    The SMART network are the busiest network in the philippines .. when u send txt it reaches to the other end in about 30 min to one hour..or 24hrs. I think the causes are so many user/subscriber of this network.

    It does not take 30 minutes to receive sms/mms…unless its Christmas eve when Filipinos are sending 400M sms or calling their loved ones to greet them Merry Christmas. Data traffic in the Philippines is at its highest as most services (banking, entertainment etc.) are done via WAP. Filipinos send an average of 250M sms a day. This is so…cos they have the cheapest rates for data.
