Rebecca Ross of the Pensacola News Journal went off to see Dwight play a concert recently. Alas the crowd were made to wait hours for the star to appear and get on with the entertainment. Thus, Rebecca made her own — by texting.
Lesson No. 2: Cell phones, when used appropriately, are your friend. Mine was the only thing that kept me, my burning-coals-for-toes and my short, sweaty fuse from walking out and missing what was eventually a great concert at The Swamp in Fort Walton Beach.
How annoying for Rebecca, but an excellent example of where texting — or at least having a mobile around to mess around with — is a rather useful (if somewhat frustrating) method of substituting for the entertainment originally planned.
