You should see Voip now because it has really escaladed all expectations of the market analysts. Voip has the potential of replacing telephony as we know since the phone was invented by Bell.
________________________________
Business Grade VoIP

I have been using vonage perfectly for a month at home on my Homechoice broadband connection. great quality!! oh and I believe homechoice have their own adsl equipment in the exchanges.

but then yesterday I used Vonage in the office over our BT broadband. Consistently after 2 minutes and 30 seconds, every call turns the other party's voice into an unintelligible dalek voice. i call the same person straight back and fine...for another 2.5 minutes and then same again.

So the big question is - are BT Broadband packet sniffing and blocking VOIP calls?

Hey,

You seem to be experiencing exactly the same problems on Vonage as I am... expect that I am on a 512k ADSL line, with 256k up. It should provide great line quality, but the delay on Vonage calls is horrendous. That's because all Vonage calls go via the USA.

I suggest getting a different VOIP provider. I'm currently looking into voipfone.co.uk - I hope they provide a decent phone call for me!

So much more modern technology moving us forward...
