CHRISTMAS IS COMING: You can win free stuff and help out some charities too!

So, if you have a handset to unlock, how do you go about doing it?  Do you take it to one of those shops on Oxford Street that seems to sell belts, sun glasses, weird T-shirts and has a desk at the back with a handwritten ‘WE UNLOCK FONES’ notice on it?  Or do you have a favourite place online?

The only devices I’ve unlocked have been my Windows Mobile ones — whenever I’ve needed an unlock code, I’ve just typed ‘unlock’ plus the device  name into Google, found a site, got out the credit card and woosh, it was done.

A friend of mine wants to unlock her Nokia — it’s locked to o2 and is out of contract so her brother lent it to her… it’s not playing ball with her Orange sim though.  So if you have a bog standard Sony Ericsson or Nokia, where do you go to get it unlocked?  Let me know.  Post a comment here or send me a mail.

I’ve had a look through Google and the number one at the top of the list of advertising services: Uniquephones.com

I took a look.  Rather comprehensive service — they apparently have the ability to unlock over 600 mobile handsets worldwide at a cost of only £1.99.  Sounds reasonable.  Anyone tried them?

Any suggestions?
