In the last 6 hours, I have received 775 mails which break down thus: -
119 were genuine mails.
656 were spams.
So, over the weekend, I have implemented spamarrest.com. If your email isn’t in my address book for any reason or if I haven’t emailed you recently, then you’ll get an instant reply to any mail sent to me asking you to quickly verify your identity.
I finally took the plunge because I’ve been having to rescue emails from people from within huge chunks of spam — and sometimes I’ve lost mail from people. Not good. I hope this is a useful solution.
And now, I am quite able to frequently mention my email, ewan@smstextnews.com, in all posts, as it doesn’t matter if it’s harvested by the spam bots.
