Movistar launches SMS payments service

Argentine mobile operator Movistar, a unit of Spanish giant Telefonica, has launched a service aimed at allowing subscribers to make payments through short message service (SMS), the company said in a statement.

Through this service, Movistar’s clients will be able to buy products and pay for services. The total amount for purchases will be debited to a client credit account or added to the monthly bill.
