As John suggested, I had a look at Grumbletext this afternoon and found out that it’s been hacked! What a shame

Here’s Adrian’s explanation —

Unfortunately, as Grumbletext is a hobby and not something I make any money on, I have a day job like everyone else and I work ridiculous hours so one way or another I don’t have a current backup of the database. I have one but it’s not that recent so I’d like to give the saddo a chance to restore the database if he feels like it - he should have plenty of time available to do so, since he evidently has little in the way of contact with other humans, and seems to think it’s amusing to destroy a public service website, but there are some strange old people in this world, and maybe he didn’t take a copy, in which case a couple of months of your and my hard work has gone down the drain. I apologise to you, the viewers and users of the forum that I didn’t take a backup of the forum everyday, but I’m overworked and I’m afraid that’s the way it is.

I really do hope Adrian puts the old copy he’s got online — Grumbletext served a critical need. Every success Adrian.
