Link: Orange to offer Windows Live Messenger to its mobile users - 21talks
Another sign that media convergence and mobile IM is doing great in Europe. Windows Live Messenger will be available to all Orange customers. First, in France by December, then in other Orange countries, Spain and the UK, by early 2007.
Ah hah. I was wondering what was going on with Orange. Last I heard they were screwing around with their own internal messenger platform. Pleased that’s been dumped in the hunt for some degree of ubiquity. Now, where does that leave Three UK and their ‘get MSN ‘free’ on your mobile, if-you-buy-before-31st-October’ strategy? Interesting, interesting. This world is changing and it sometimes happens very, very fast.
Bring it on.
