To the likes of some of the News Corp style companies, this would just be a mere department. and buying up the likes of 3 to create that department would come out of petty cash. But my question would be if a big media brand wants into mobile in a big way would they not go the MVNO route rather than have the hassle of running a network? However as the fall of Easy and Disney pulling out of their planned launch in the UK shows, the MVNO route is not for the faint hearted. So maybe a alternative thought is an MVNO with a customer base could be created with the network assets sold on to another op to manage? Jim This would indeed be interesting.
