I was in the T-Mobile shop on Oxford Street the other day too. I took a tour round the mobile shops actually. I snapped this pic of their PAYG pricing — the 3p/text really caught my eye.

But at the same time, that’s right next to a flipping-great 40p-a-minute cost to call another UK mobile.

This is PATENTLY ridiculous. How anyone from any UK network can justify charging people 40p-a-minute … I just don’t know.

Here’s a question: Can anyone recall how much a call from Vodafone to o2 was charged way back when they were the only networks in the country? You know, 10+ years ago? I’m wondering whether this 40p a minute rate has changed much.

this highlights that the story you ran about t-mob increasing internetworking fees for UK carriers was not the case (thankfully). As far as i can tell they levied an increase on some of the channel island carriers, probably to bring aa19′s in line with the t-mobile AG parent branch pricing.
