Link: YouTube hopes to be on mobile devices in 2007 - USATODAY.com
YouTube, the popular online video sharing site, said Wednesday it hopes to launch a service for wireless devices within a year.
Chad Hurley, YouTube chief executive and co-founder, told an advertising conference that offering video services on mobile phones was a key opportunity for the company.“Within the next year we hope to have something on a mobile device, it’s going to be a huge market, especially for the video mind-set we’re dealing with, it’s a natural transition,” said Hurley.
They’ve been singularly USELESS with mobile. Totally 100% useless.
I can’t tell you how annoyed I was to find that their email-to-youtube service was just pants. Total rubbish. Never worked ONCE. And I’m a technical geek. I tried absolutely everything to get it to work….
… then I found Nakama.ca — essentially, Youtube for mobile. Do take a look if you haven’t seen it already. Youtube could learn a lot from Nakama. True mobile integration. Built for mobile browsers. Wicked.
So, I look forward to seeing what Youtube dream up — I hope it’s a billion times better than their existing facilities.
