Mobile TV viewers in Norway will be served personalised adverts as part of a two-month trial.

Banner adverts will be sent to mobile phones and tailored to the individual user under the trial by broadcaster NRK, a mobile TV pioneer.

“Advertisers see value in people being interested in certain products in a given context,” said Gunnar Garfors, director of development at NRK.

That’s rather cool. I’m still not a huge fan of mobile TV myself yet…

According to the Kinsey Institute, 54% of men think about sex everyday or several times a day. For mobile TV to really work in Norway (or anywhere else) advertisers will need to serve adverts to male phone users that are in the right context.

Therefore for many of the guys trudging along the streets of oslo thinking about the cold weather, the high taxes, the sky high price for a beer etc………….. They will now receive loads of avderts for good old PRON :o )

Having lived in Norway for 5 years I can tell you there are going to be a big rise in accident figures when peoples attention is taken away from driving and walking in snow to watch the girlies on their mobile TV.
