I’m rediscovering my N73 now that I can actually use it. Total arse that ShoZu doesn’t work, although I suspect that this is because of some network thing that Three have implemented — the

So when I took a photo yesterday, I found an option under the ‘send’ menu saying ‘web upload’. Oh. Web Upload? I thought it was something to do with Yahoo Go.

But no. All of a sudden I saw the Flickr logo. Oooh my. I tried configuring it with my Flickr username and password — but that didn’t work. You have to log on to Flickr and retrieve your special upload details for this facility. (More details here)

I’ve just done it and it works perfectly.

Very smart.

  1. The popularity of N-series phones have added a whole new dimension to the world of mobile blogging. I really like the integration of camera with the browser and e-mail in the N-series phones. Infact if RIM comes out with a camera better than on a Pearl it would be a blockbuster for mobile blogging.

I must say that this integration of Flickr on N-series points to an interesting and upcoming trend. We are looking at a whole range of Web 2.0 sites looking to go mobile. And make it easy at that. For example, moblog UK allows mobile blogging via e-mail. But we all need a dedicated application which allows you to import directly from your photo gallery or video gallery. Such an application that works on any Java-enabled camera phone that supports GPRS/EDGE/3G will be a blockbuster and serve as the future of mobile blogging as it will be used by more people. Why? As it is supported on more handsets.

But till we have such a dedicated application developed that works on more phones we will have to settle for the flickr N-series application will do just fine to spread the word.
