A Microsoft global Mobile Virtual Network Operator plan?

Oooh.

Bigeye posted a comment on my MVNO post from earlier today, saying that there’s a rumour that Microsoft plan a global mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).

Now, that would make sense.

Definitely. Definitely makes a lot of sense to me — you know, in a slightly twisted, slightly exciting context.

One would imagine that they could afford to price it rather competitively for users of Windows Mobile devices, Vista and what not.

It’d be nice to go anywhere and be able to use the Microsoft network rather than have to arse around with incumbent idiot MNOs in each country you visit. I dunno. It’s nice to have MVNO/MNO fantasies once in a while. Like the News Corp / Three one a while ago. Heh!
