The you-have-won-a-million text scam

There seems to be no end to the short message service (SMS) scams originating from outside Brunei.

The latest in a long line of hidden-fortune scams has been making its rounds here, even in the form of a SMS from the Philippines.

Not much different from the email variety that you get, this scam involves convincing you that you’ve won a few million quid — but in order to get it, you need to pay a few ‘expenses’….
