I was standing in Waterloo station last Saturday at just past 9am. I had to get a change of clothes for a meeting later that day and I hoped I might be able to find something to buy at the station. You know, a tshirt, something like that.
Alas I walked the length of the concourse and found only Accesorise (woman’s stuff) and Monsoon (more woman’s stuff). So I got out my phone and sent a text to 82ASK. I asked them what the nearest GAP was to Waterloo Station.
I stood. I waited. A minute later, my phone chirruped:
Verrrry smart.
Then, ah hah, see, my question to 82ASK was location related, so I got this text as well:
I didn’t actually need the map because I know Long Acre and Covent Garden very well. However, I thought I should test it out. So, I jumped in a cab and then clicked on that link.

50p? Reasonable I think. Reasonable if it’s actually any good. I had visions of some crappy wap service style map…
Anyway, I clicked…

Wow, good quality!
I scrolled down and found some zoom in/out features. VERY smart. That made my 50p much more valuable.

Then I got a thank-you text from 82ASK:

Smart.
I am very impressed. It’s an excellent service. TOTALLY useful. Keep this in your mind when you’re next out and hunting for something. Put 82ASK in your phonebook as well.
