Today is a good day for China Mobile – profits up 23%

China Mobile Ltd., the country’s biggest mobile-phone operator by subscribers, posted Wednesday a 23% rise in 2006 net profit on robust growth in subscribers and value-added services revenue. It also reported a record increase in subscribers for February and said it is setting aside 99.8 billion yuan ($12.9 billion) for capital expenditure this year, up from 87 billion yuan in 2006.
