I've spent 13 years in Portugal and can say that the technology and prices are fantastic, and suitable for an European country.

If you come to South Africa you'll faint when you see what broadband means here

Interesting review, although I'm not sure where were you looking at because if there's something Portugal has embraced, it is technology. Let me give you a few examples:

1. most people own not one mobile phone, but two, some even three, to keep up with the constant promotions the different providers have to call or text within their networks
2. there is absolutely nowhere you look at, especially on tv, where a shortcode for sms isn't displayed!!! everyone is constantly on their phone, and this is a country where people pay for their services as opposed to having bundled in a contract like UK - even handsets
3. several hybrid networks providing landline and mobile service with one number are on the market, with far more success than the rubbish bt vision cr*p
4. and let's talk about other technology advances - cashless payments at motorways and bridges, coming straight out of your bank account (those subsidies being repaid, you know); low value cash cards replacing debit cards; pin services in credit cards for at least a decade; cash machines that give you instant access to your own money, and not with 3 day delays; etc....

I suggest a new visit and go somewhere outside the irish pub or chip shop you found in your drunken walks after being barred from a club from looking like an idiot!

Ok ok…this post is just a bunch of “cra*”…the lies and the patriotic flag-waving is just to remember the level that england is…very poor!
I just found it funny…the brits are allways saying that Portugal this, Portugal that, but they keep comming back…LOL

“fronts over Spain kicked our little flying tube around the sky and flung my poor gin everywhere, but I did get the feeling that the crap, wonky technology upon which Portugal relies may have somehow infected even the hallowed, proud vehicles of British Airways.” … over Spain but Portugal is the guilty one…LOL

“It’s telling that a country that receives whopping subsidies to spunk on everything else (building pointless motorways, stealing all our fish…) has a still-dormant telecoms market that’s totally dependent on foreign providers.” … What?! can we have right the have motorways? STEALING OUR FISH??? LLLLLLLLOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL u must have drinked too much gin in the plane..u should be thinking Spain but is more fun to blame the litle Portugal.. Foring providers?! another LOL for that…

And the rest of the post is pointless and racist sometimes….

Keep the good (crap) work…. LMAO
