The Australian drag racer who ploughed into a crowd and killed six spectators at a Tennessee charity event has described his shock in a personal SMS message.

I’m always interested when the media uses text messaging in this manner. It’s a good method of getting a message out when perhaps you don’t quite feel like making statements in front of cameras.
