First of all, you can use a gmail account but not a Google Apps for Your Domain account. Second, there is no calendar integration yet, except for using some third party software (some of which you have to pay an on-going rate for). Third, some networks (Vodafone UK is one of them) prevents the Java applications from connecting through their network. I use Google on a Blackberry and E61i, and the best way I've found to overcome these issues is to go online and use their online services.
