The thing with windows mobile devices... is theirs a huge amount of software available for them... thousands of times more than on the symbian platform.

Now some of that does cause conflicts... and Microsoft's stupid idea of never letting the X button close an app is stupid it minimises it instead! . So with a little freeware application closer... and a bit of care choosing and installing software I'm stuggling to remember my last forced soft reset.

Previously, the only source of my soft resets at the moment is downloading 3-4 30mb podcasts at the same time... while moving them to folders on the microSD card. Now that I've realised this is a bad idea I've stopped... and am happy again.

I honestly believe that the Windows Mobile platform has far more going for it, when it comes to flexibilty, software choice, customisation, and general tweaking to fit my needs... BUT i'm perfectly willing to concede that out of the box the symbian platform is more user friendly and stable... But then I've never had my SE K750i crash on me ever....

After using S60 for years, and trying Windows Mobile on three devices: SMT-5600, Cingular 8125, and Samsung Blackjack (yes, I know they all have generic names, but I'm too lazy to look them up), I finally realized why Windows Mobile devices have a physical button on them to reset and Symbian doesn't. Apparently you have, as well.

I like the iPAQ... I use it for everything. Works like a champ. In addition we've built some software that allows me to integrate the GPS data into the browser. That way we can do local GPS enable search inside the default browser (Pocket Internet Explorer).

You can see screen shots on our website (http://www.5o9inc.com) examples of uses cases and if you want I can send you the software to try out.

As for the reboot issues. Very occasionally - nothing that slows me down. Email works great, I use POP accounts and SMS is fine. Maybe once every couple of days.

In fact I say it works 98% of the time just fine.

Cheers,
