Can you blend an iPhone?

OK so I promised not to write anything more about the iPhone unless it was groundbreaking, exciting, and worth reading. Surely putting one through a blender is all of the above?

In a rather interesting PR stunt, American blender manufacturer Blendtec have been asking ‘Will It Blend?‘ for a while now, putting all sorts of weird and wonderful things through their range of blenders. We’ve had glowsticks, Barbie dolls, diamonds, and now – the iPhone.

Want to see what an iPhone does when you put it in a blender? Here’s the video:

As always, the standard disclaimer applies: DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME (or at work, for that matter)!

I was in new york for the past few days, and I *accidentally* found myself in the 5th Av. Apple Store. Next thing you know, I had one of these ‘iPhone’ thingies in my hand – it was the darndest thing!

Colour me fairly unimpressed- It’s pretty, I love the new iPod interface, the photos application is fantastic and the device is as speady as I would hope a WM device will be one day.

But the camera – oh dear – seemed a bit last minute

And they keyboard… I must have fat fingers or hand-eye co-ordination problems because it was a real pain to type on.

    It’s pretty though!

Google maps was a lot of fun when AT&T actually felt like sending a few bits down the ‘wire’… other times it was extremely frustrating to use the ‘zoom’ gestures only to have them ignored

But it looked and felt REALLY nice

It’s also a lot larger than I expect most people are really willing to carry about in the UK

    It was quite sexy though

Did I mention the keyboard? I think us text-messaging UK folk will find it a wee bit frustrating that it is almost impossible to tap out a text with one hand (says the guy who hasnt had a non-qwerty phone for a while now..)

The interface, however, is generally astounding – iPhone 2.0 will be great!
