I was in new york for the past few days, and I *accidentally* found myself in the 5th Av. Apple Store. Next thing you know, I had one of these 'iPhone' thingies in my hand - it was the darndest thing!

Colour me fairly unimpressed- It's pretty, I love the new iPod interface, the photos application is fantastic and the device is as speady as I would hope a WM device will be one day.

But the camera - oh dear - seemed a bit last minute

And they keyboard... I must have fat fingers or hand-eye co-ordination problems because it was a real pain to type on.

It's pretty though!

Google maps was a lot of fun when AT&T actually felt like sending a few bits down the 'wire'... other times it was extremely frustrating to use the 'zoom' gestures only to have them ignored

But it looked and felt REALLY nice

It's also a lot larger than I expect most people are really willing to carry about in the UK

It was quite sexy though

Did I mention the keyboard? I think us text-messaging UK folk will find it a wee bit frustrating that it is almost impossible to tap out a text with one hand (says the guy who hasnt had a non-qwerty phone for a while now..)

The interface, however, is generally astounding - iPhone 2.0 will be great!
