I had a similar situation on vacation in Utah in the United States. I was traveling with my wife, my cousin and his wife. After checking into a hotel that supposedly had wifi we tried local restaurants including McDonalds and a bar, in the end the hotel the restaurants and the bar all failed us. We ended up moving to a different hotel so my cousin could get work done.

Now he has a broadband card to put in the laptop for access.

Nokia N95, Nokia E61i, Nokia N73 and HTC Touch couldn’t find any wifi connection, nor could my laptop!
