Thanks to a deal between Skype and SpinVox, Skype customers can soon get their voicemail messages converted to text and sent to their mobile phones via SMS.

It’s a wickedly useful service, Spinvox. I love coming out of my meetings and seeing all my voicemails there in my inbox nicely translated. I can get on with calling folk rather than messing around spending minutes listening to messages and then having to transcribe numbers and replay voicemails because I didn’t write down the number quick enough. I’m spared all that rubbish now thanks to Spinvox. If I was a huge Skype Voicemail user, I’d be quite excited at the prospect of adding that to my service.

I have been using SimulScribe on Skype for months now and it works great. I’m not sure I’d switch to Spinvox because I like that SimulScribe also transcribes my mobile phone’s voicemail. They have a free trial on their website for Skype accounts, check out https://apps.simulscribe.com/signup/edit
