Interesting comments about messaging costs. It seems they're very affordable for fund raising and supporter communication when compared to traditional methods like snail mail. If a candidate is paying 15 or 25 cents per message and one in 10 makes a contribution doesn't the math work out? I would love to see some actual data on response rates and ROI.

An interactive shortcode application is great for a campaign that has raised $32.8m (£16.4m) in the second quarter of 2007 or fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton, who raised $27m, BUT is a shortcode the right answer for a candidate at the national or local level who can't afford the messaging charges that must be paid to an aggregator such as SinglePoint? Long question. Short answer: no.

There are smtp delivered alert applications that are a better fit.
