Expedia UK offers free international sim card with holidays

Smart.

I have been waiting to see something like this for ages. I always thought Lastminute.com should do this sort of thing.

When you’re booking a 500 quid holiday, adding on a free (or even a 5/10 pound sim card is peanuts — and a good idea). Or you could of course get yourself a maxroam card.

The Expedia offer in question includes £10′s worth of credit on the international sim card and the deal is done in conjunction with the people at sim4travel.com.

I reckon it’ll be a successful deal.

Here are the offer details:

With a FREE international SIM card from Expedia.co.uk and SIM4travel, you can save money on your mobile calls while outside the UK. The service can be used in over 100 countries around the world.
Receive calls for FREE in over 50 countries
Get 40 minutes of European calls FREE only with Expedia.co.uk
Make calls to the UK from only 25p per minute
UK number provided with the service
Add credit directly from your mobile anytime and anywhere
Use it every time you travel outside the UK
When you go abroad – simply pop the SIM4travel SIM card into your mobile to save money on all the calls you make and receive while away.

And the offer page is here.

Sim4Travel uses an +447 Isle of Man access numbers; you can review and compare all the roaming sims on

    http://www.roamingsims.com

    You can compare them by
    Inbound Access number
    Receiving Calls
    Calls to the UK
    SMS/Text costs

We have taken all the UK operators rates, and compare them like for like with roaming sim providers, it’s interesting reading.
Especially since the new EU cap on roaming charges, it seems that the operators still charge as much as possible and there is huge savings to be made, one a one week trip:
