		<description>It&#039;s interesting to think which UK operators fit into the above categories.  The most obvious in the &#039;Dumb Pipe&#039; (I prefer to call it &#039;Bit Pipe&#039; as all they are doing is carrying data and are not interested in the contents) is T-Mobile.  Although I think their approach to data has been excellent, TM has never deployed a good portal.

I guess the others all fit into the &#039;On-Portal&#039; category - Three are clearly the leaders when it comes to having the strongest portal in the UK.  

However, you can see things changing... the agreement between Apple and O2 in the UK will see Apple taking revenue share from customers - i.e. &#039;ownership&#039; of the customer is no longer exclusively the operator.
