Picture 17

Spodtronic, the mobile radio and podcast service has licensed BBC Radio International’s huge 1,000+ archive of concert recordings. The archive includes exclusive audio concerts from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, AC/DC, Coldplay, Muse, Chemical Brothers, The Killers and Avril Lavigne.

You’ll be able to get access to these recordings for a fee of around 5.99 Euro per month via the internetand via your mobile handset using the Spodtronic client software.

Liquid Air Lab intends launching the spodtronic live! radio service with mobile network operators, targeting one exclusive operator in each of 20 Continental European countries (excluding the UK), then they aim to extend service to North America. Service is also available, starting today, directly on the company’s live music radio portal, www.spodtroniclive.com — although I just get a username and password box when I visit at the moment.

I’ll need to download Spodtronic and give it a go – it appears to work for most of Nokia’s top of the line devices – N95, E65, E61 and so on.
