On first thoughts I thought this was a really stupid idea - with all the news coverage, police presence and &quot;publicity&quot; about the incident I couldn&#039;t see people being prompted to give evidence because of a bluetooth message.

But then I considered the youth presence in the area.  People who know the guy[s] who did this are likely to be reluctant to get too involved with anything that looks like they may be considering giving evidence.  But a discreet bluetooth message can get through to them, they can save it for later, and there&#039;s less pressure on them.

Good thinking, Mersyside police!  I like to hear about innovative ideas like this.</description>
