Texperts, AQA and Ask Terry go head-to-head, TONIGHT!

Liverpool Football Club are playing Besiktas tonight in the UEFA Champions League.

What an opportunity, I thought, to do a little trial between the top mobile question answering services here in the United Kingdom. During the game tonight, I am going to text five questions to each service. I’ll record:

- Question sent
- Time sent
- Answer
- Time answer received

Then publish the results.

I do need your help though: Please email me your suggestions for fiendish questions — related to either Liverpool Football Club or Besiktas — and I’ll pick the shockers and ask them.

This post constitutes fair warning, I reckon. I was deliberating whether or not to do the trial without informing them. But if they’re reading — I think Texperts and AQA often read SMS Text News, and I reckon ROK will be too — then that’s fine.

I will be as fair as possible, recording times and responses accurately — plus I’ll be texting the same question to each service. I think the results will be best judged on the responses and response times. I don’t intend picking a winner — I think that’d be quite difficult. Instead the responses & times should, I imagine, speak for themselves.

Standby… and if you’ve got a die-hard Liverpool FC nut sitting next to you, do email me your suggested questions — ewan@smstextnews.com.

Update: Here are the results.

What I really like about AQA is the way that they answer the slightly ‘off the wall’ questions, so you should ask questions like:

    - Who will win the match (sent before kick-off)?
    - Which manager has the most attractive wife?
    - Is Peter Crouch taller than my dad? (He is by the way)
    - Why on earth has Rafa grown that beard?

I look forward to seeing the results.
