Last.fm Apple iPhone application on the way?

Just caught this via StrategyEye. Very interesting. No wonder they didn’t get back to me last week when I emailed to ask about their mobile strategy… that’s if it’s true… but it definitely makes sense, especially as there’s already a scrobbling client (see Dan’s comment here.). We shall see…

Social music platform Last.fm is rumoured to be negotiating with Apple to have its services made available on the iPhone. A letter posted to and later removed from Wikipedia indicated that a range of third-party firms were planning to launch major iPhone applications and Last.Fm is believed to be aggressively pushing for inclusion on the device, with a recent release of a Windows Mobile-compatible version of its application indicating its desire to expand into the mobile music sector.

  • I would like to see last.fm on the iphone; especially with the 3g networks.
  • Last.FM is godlike in my opinion. I love it. iPhones on the other hand I could do without. In fact, I do do without them. Yahoozle!
