There’s a lot of complete tosh written about location based services which is based on compelling sounding use cases (“Hey! Carlos lands in a strange city and needs to buy a pair of boots before booking a nice restaurant recommended by locals….”). These usually star fictional road warriors with more money than sense and poor organisational skills.

Hear, hear! Absolutely. This is why I'm so dubious about the recently-announced Garmin Nuvifone... the promo video follows this script exactly and it just doesn't feel realistic.

Ben Smith's last blog post..Confirmed: O2 have 16GB iPhone £329 [updated]

This is really good. I like to hear folks outside of my own mobile sphere and how they use mobile-anything. That being said, user flow (in the software and hardware) and user interface interactions (service, hardware, software, and need) have always been those things that drive usage in any technology. What I'd like to see is that more companies think on the scale that Apple did and think ecosystem instead of just spoke in the wheel.
