Save the texter! Cushion all lampposts!

Reader Tom, who is no doubt, sniggering from afar in a demountable office park somewhere in Ireland, saw this video on Engadget and thought we should document it for posterity:

118118 and a concerned charity, have, apparently, got together to wrap up the lampposts on London’s Brick Lane to try and prevent injuries to idiots texting and not looking where they are going.

I suspect the padding will be more useful for late night revelers exiting the local curry houses. And the padding should definitely carry some branding too.

If you’re having problems bumping into things whilst texting, stop everything and get yourself Yapme, which allows you to ultra-quickly ‘speak’ your text messages and have them converted to text and sent to the recipient. Piece of simplicity. Avoids the need to continually stare at your phone whilst walking into street furniture.
