Interestingly services like 118 118 are already serving mobile adverts to customers in exchange for a secomd number free (there is no such thing as free). So the extension to a text answer service rather than a talking directory does make sense.

I think this is good news for the industry as the awarenmess of textperts and aqa is still relatively low.

The challenge that 118 118 have is the staff employed to give you a number are totally different from the witty, hungry, guys that textperts have.

Perhaps 118 118 should buy textperts, in which case they will stand more chance of getting it right first time. Either way i think it is a positive story.

Bring it on!

At the moment the awareness of "mobile find" services is very low. I work as a freelance researcher for Texperts and when I promote the service to family, friends and anyone else hardly anyone has heard of the concept. Sure, everyone that reads SMS Text News knows about mobile find but in general it is a new concept to people.

A big advertising campaign will work wonders for awareness. Yes, customers that only use the service once in a while will stick with 118118 but frequent users will research all the options, just as they do for directory enquiries. This could be a massive boost for AQA and Texperts and all the others.

Researching an answer to any question is a lot more labour intensive than directory enquiries, so labour costs will be higher...not sure if the economics will cover a TV ad campaign, but then again I don't have anything to do with the financial side.

Last time I checked with them 118118 texts cost

Nice comparison Alfie.

AQA I tend to use for fun, personal things.
Texperts are my favourite to be honest mind.

118M8? If your USP is that you DONT ACTUALLY ANSWER THE QUESTION then.. Good luck to ya! lol
