Anybody remember Business 2.0?

As a regular wannabe dotcom trillionaire, I used to get Business 2.0 a lot back-in-the-day. Back when you could get a million dollars in funding over lunch with a one-pager business plan. Back when the Sony CMD-Z5 was a decent handset.

So when I walked by this aging advert for the magazine Business 2.0 — it’s on the window of the now disused WHSmiths newsagent at Baker Street Station — I started to wonder.

We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

Nor are we in the internet age, either.

No. We’re big time in the mobile age. Right in the middle of it too, heading into the social age, I reckon.

What’s your publication of choice for the mobile age?

Why, SMS Text News of course. And, er, quite a few other good sites as well.

Keep it locked to 101.1 SMS Text News FM. Live from London.

Amazing this ad is still on the shop window.

I was an avid subscriber to Wired, Business 2.0 and Red Herring – sad to see 2 of these no longer with us.

I remember Business 2.0 back in 1999 when it was 200+ pages – most of it advertising.

I remember my good friend Marty Gupta in Atlanta (was then with BellSouth) walking me across to a bookstore when there in 99 and showing me these great titles.
