@charles: Although Google don't make a lot of details available what is known demonstrates there is a great deal of redundancy in what they build - data and server-wise. There'll always be businesses who need more, but for the cost / quality ratio offered right now I'm happy with Google. But then again all my data (gigs of it) lives in 'the cloud' via Google, Amazon or similar...

I use Google Calendar a lot too. My biggest fear is that someday their server will crash (or get hacked) and I'll lose everything. Thats the problem I find with all this electronic data storage, i still feel the need to have a physical back-up sometimes. But then I can also remember when the pocket calender was the peak of technology ;-)

OK, my rant is over now,

@Denny - sounds good. Wonder if that's justification enough to buy more toys :-)

My main calendaring is done through Google Calendar, with rather a lot of friends and colleagues data imported to there. Then I sync between that and my N810 using GPE and Erminig. It was a bit fiddly to set up, but it's incredibly useful having all those feeds pulled onto a device that will be in my pocket when I need to know what's happening when and where :)

Totally agree - I'm looking forward to the iPhone and Exchange integration. I tend to carry an N95-8 and an iPhone, using the former for voice calls and the latter for browsing/life stuff.

Back in Symbian 2nd Edition it was pretty easy to replace the stock applications with 3rd party variants, but it's pretty much impossible in 3rd Edition.. so, unless you're willing to live with a totally separate application for calendaring, the only place a solution will come from is the manufacturer or Symbian :(

I totally agree with you that things do need to change. I'd settle for an SMS alarm feature on the calendar of my S60 device so that I can let people know of events (and send it to them) a bit easier than typing the entire thing out on a group SMS.

Maybe someone will see the light and bring more than just a static reproduction of things paper has done for years.
