Fido Uno in Action

WARNING!

I am clearly useless in the using of my N95’s video feature. I’m a newbie. I have taken few videos with it and therefore unbeknown to me, I was holding it sideways. I apologize for the fact that I am sideways. I will do better for all of you next time, feel free to mock me now.

Moving on!

We had a reader leave a comment on my earlier Fido Uno post, about how it was working out, as they were thinking of getting it. Never one to leave you all hanging, I took a video of it in action. It’s been working great, it seamlessly drops the router and picks up the Fido network without dropping a call or you having to phone the person back to allow it to switch networks. Genius.

  1. I don't normally, they've just ripped up all our backyards to redo membranes on underground parking garages.

It makes the summer that much more enjoyable when the dirt comes flying into your house.

  2. (I have a Laptop so i turned it sideways!) Fab to see Canada bringing things upto speed. You're fab

  3. In your video you said it switches to fido minutes…. actually, not true. It switches to fido gsm but does not start counting your minutes! checked the fine print and it's true… if you initiate a call on wifi, an lose your wifi mid call… your call is carried but no minutes are charged 🙂 this is also true for the canada wide long distance package. You can start a long distance call from a wifi spot and then walk away and you are freeeeeeee calling on the fido network. I know it's hard to believe, but I think this is part of reason fido has stopped promoting fido uno so agressively. You can't have consumers starting calls on wifi and then losing the connection … for whatever reason… and then sneek in and start charging for the call… seamlessly.
