We’ve got our Trackbacks back
Since SMS Text News switched over to using the Disqus comment system we’ve seen a huge increase in commenting and discussion… a good thing. However, one of the things that has been missing (for too long in our opinion) is trackback support for linking articles… Yesterday the Disqus team announced their new trackback feature and today we’ve turned it on. You can see the trackbacks below the comments as well as a trackback URL you can use when referring to SMS Text News on your own blog.
Obviously we’re still itching for pingback support – this is a mechanism that is often automatically implemented by blog software and is simply triggered by placing a link in a post (and is less prone to spamming), but in the meantime we’re grateful to see some development in this area – well done Disqus!

Sidenote: We’ve also enabled the video comments feature that Disqus provides, so go mad with a webcam and let’s see you commenting live!
