I’ve just bought an iPhone

I couldn’t be arsed waiting for a 16GB device. Instead, I ordered an 8GB.

And I bought it from Carphone Warehouse.

The three stage purchasing process was, as they say in France, a piece of piz. Click. Click. Done.

I’ve never bought from Carphone online before. I hadn’t been that impressed, previously, at trying out the order process only to find an expired but not yet removed warning message last weekend.

Anyway. Kudos to Carphone. I ordered my device in less than 90 seconds.

Now, I’m keen to see when it will arrive.

It will go to your home address, beecause they refuse to deliver anywhere else. Then you won't be in so they'll leave a card, but they won't attempt to re-deliver or allow you to supply an alternative delivery address and so you'll have to get to a courier's warehouse somewhere on the ourtskirts of London between 8am and 8pm in 5 working days or they send it back.

Can you tell who's grumpy because they have an iPhone 3G now, but it's stuck at Heathrow?

Send a courier to pick it up. Even if it costs 100 quid to do that, it's
only 10% of what you're committed to spend, right? ;-)

I've sent the girl as she's passing that way, but don't hold out much hope… courier's card says it has to be me with photo ID.

A flash of eyebrows should do it
