Sweden has a new fastest texter: it’s 17 year old student My Svensson, who beat her nearest rival by seven seconds to win the SMS Swedish Championship in Stockholm, according to RTE News.
To claim the title, Svensson rattled out a 141 character SMS in 61 seconds. To soothe her aching thumbs, Svensson will take home a 25,000 krona (about £2,100) – which might just cover the bill for the 40 to 50 SMS she sends every day to her three best friends to practice her skills.
Ahh!
I can barely send a text in two minutes, but 141 characters in 61 seconds? Madness.
I need a QWERTY keyboard on my phone I think. Keypads are just practical for me.
Samantha.
Maybe I should enter one of these things…
I think there should be an International Texting Competition since texting competition has become an annual event for most countries.
Like for instance in the US when the 20-year-old Nathan Schwartz was hailed as the National Texting Champion and grabbed the $50,000 cash prize.
Hmmm… do i see big network providers raising their hands for sponsorship? 🙂
We'd put on one. Only… I don't know quite how you 'measure' speed?
As for Nathan

As for Nathan’s case, he correctly texted “Does everybody here know the alphabet? Let's text. Here it goes … AbcDeFghiJKlmNoPQrStuvWXy & Z! Now I know my A-B-C's, next time won't you text with me?” in just 60 seconds, amazingly crazy. The texting event he joined was sponsored by LG.
