Google Maps are great for helping tourists - train times are also really useful for making sure folks catch their last train.

I tend to find my 'acts of kindness' are finding football and cricket scores for people. It usually impresses that I can just call them up from various sources. Still, people tend to just put it down to some kind of magic and my general tech obsession and move on, rather than saying "Ooh, I must get me one of those data subscriptions!". Sad but true.

I often try and tell people where they are meant to be going. Usually I've got it wrong though, and they end up going in the wrong direction... But I don't realise that until they are gone though.

As for using my mobile... It never actually crossed my mind.
I might try it next time!

Samantha.

Yes i've done similar myself. Alsways tend to get asked for directions when suited and booted, I think tourists assume a suit means you know where you're going!
