If you were now sitting elsewhere in the world where your only choice of connection to the internet was through a mobile phone, and that phone was the only way you have ever connected to the internet, then you would discover Trutap and possibly not have an IM a/c and therefore use the service to discover new friends, chat to your current friends, group message them and send photos. If you are lucky enough to use a PC once a week through an internet cafe then sure, you may have IM, now you can do this from your mobile phone everyday instead of once a week and whats more, if you have a blog, you can keep in contact with your mates through a whole wealth of text and picture blogging sites.
