I’ll take two please. £80 quid a go? Brilliant!
Well.
I can only actually USE one at a time. I’m slightly concerned about the possibility of adopting the INQ1 because I fear it could be hugely, hugely addictive! I really do like the concept of having my social address book from the likes of Facebook and Skype integrated in one place. With other people keeping their numbers up to date.
I shall most definitely get one. I think I will get one in-store when they become available. I noticed today as I strolled past a few 3UK shops that the INQ1 is marked as ‘available for pre-order’.
Are you getting one?
Certainly am!
3 stores tell me that they expect to get them in stock for Thu 4th. The fact that their website's now showing them as available for pre order matches that pretty well.
For me it's the deep integration of all the social networking sites that make this the most exciting phone of the run up to Christmas.
Forgive me if I cross post something from my inq1 blog into here, it sums up how I feel about the phone nicely.

The main feature is the deep integration of facebook. I don't just mean a web browser that links to the site – no, this is a client based application. In plain English that means all the info, your contacts, your wall, your news feed etc is stored on the phone itself.
It means you can still look around facebook and poke mates, respond to messages, in fact do anything while out of reception, and the next time you wander back into reception it will automatically sync back up, actioning all of your pokes, whatever in fact. Very handy if you ever use your phone on the tube.
Another benefit of this is that all access is instant. Click on your news feed or your wall for example and they will instantly appear with all their respective data, as it's stored on the handset. Very clever indeed.
And the integration doesn't end there. All your facebook friends will be imported into your phone book, linking their current profile picture and status with their entry. If they change their profile pic, it will automatically change on your handset. Instantly. No user intervention required.
If someone sends you a facebook message, it will appear in a central messages area, along with all your text messages. You will have the choice to reply either by text or facebook message or call them. Equally when looking through your phone book, you will have the option to call, text, poke or Facebook message them.
This is the sort of deep integration that's getting the mobile industry excited at the moment.
Couple that with unlimited free Skype calls built in, and unlimited free windows live messenger too, it's good times ahead for the INQ brand.
Available on the 3 network, look at the value of this contract. Admittedly this is the cheapest, lowest tariff, but get a load of this.
£15 per month
Free INQ1 handset
Unlimited internet access, emails, Skype, Windows live messenger
Unlimited Texts to any network
Unlimited 3 to 3 calls
75 cross network calls
It's also available on Pay as you go for £80, with unlimited internet access / Skype / Windows Live Messenger costing only £5 per month, all in. For a prepay deal that's pretty astonishing.
As if all that wasn't enough if you plug it into a computer it will auto install all the software allowing you to use it as a mobile broadband modem. No Driver CD's required. Fantastic!
It has a 3.2 MP camera and a 1GB memory card included.
Could this be the mobile to make Nokia, Sony Ericsson and the rest wake up and take notice?
The handset is rumoured to be on sale on the 4th – 5th December.

For those that are interested more , my inq1 blog is over at http://www.inq1-handset.blogspot.com .
Excited? You bet so! Bring it on.
Trevor.
I was so excited about this but it seems like their plans with more minutes http://threestore.three.co.uk/priceplans.aspx?p… do not have internet included. I simply need more then 200 minutes. Gaah the £25 would be perfect if it included unlimited net access. I think I am going to switch to sim only, and wait for three to drop their prices/ refresh packages/ or start doing sim only. On the plus side three do pretty awesome offers, so i just need to wait I think!
Hi Ricky,
Good question, and I think 3 should make the answer a bit clearer on their website. 3 only charge £5 month extra for “Internet Max”, available on any price plan for 1GB of data. (Effectivly making it unlimited) Look in the section “add ons”
Trevor
I should probably safely know the answer to this one, but I've just got back from my holiday and my brain is not in gear; if I were to grab a pre-pay one of these for my FB obsessed wife, I'm thinking I should be able to shove her contract 3 sim (with data package) straight into it and be good to go. Or have I missed something?
That's how it works I reckon!
Thanks for backing up my thoughts on that, Ewan. I feel a Christmas pressie coming on…
I managed to order one of these on PAYG for GBP 79.99 this morning. this comes with SIM and GBP 10 credit. Initially the 3 Sales Droid stated that they are not available until 'later this week' – but when I explained that I have a Orange Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) which times out tomorrow he relented and 'found' a secret stash of INQ1s (in silver – I did not know that they come in any other colour).
Something else that I discovered when setting up PAYG 3 SIMs – the Skype functionality now appears to last for 3 months 9not 1 month as before) following a GBP 10 top-up!
They will be released in black too, but it's silver only for now.
Trevor.
I can imagine there's going to be similar supply issues as they had just over a year ago with the launch of the first Skypephone. That was a big opps, I thought they'd have been better prepared this time.
As for the price, it includes £10 credit (which you're gonna need anyway) and going through Quidco nets you £11 off!
The handsets should be in everyone's hands by Friday.
Keep a lookout for the price plans that will be set up for the INQ1. For contract: Unlimited* internet, unlimited SMS, unlimited 3 to 3 calls and 75 mins to other networks for 15gbp a month…
* Fair use (around 2GB for internet, 2000 mins for calls to 3 customers and around 2000 SMS)
They will be released in black too, but it's silver only for now.
