This ZumoDrive upload is going to take a little while…

I’ve been uploading files to ZumoDrive. I bought the 500gb ZumoDrive option and I’m currently uploading about 200gb of music.

The super thing about this is I’ll be able to ‘access’ my iTunes music — all 200gb of it — from my 4GB Vodafone Dell Mini Netbook, or from my array of laptops and other machines dotted around the planet.

It is *slightly* conditional on having at reasonable internet connection.

I think I need to a) move to central London next to a BT exchange or b) move to the US.

Or anywhere with some decent bandwidth…

Isn't it a pretty costly way to access all your songs? It's almost $1,000 a year. There must be a cheaper way to do this.

My biggest issue is getting a fast enough internet connection! And I'm not sure of a better way of enabling this functionality!

and you wonder why I hesitate to move to England, third world plumbing and broadband infrastructure doesn't really sell itself well

The broadband is fine if you live in North Wales. Or central London, where they've actually upgraded the exchanges. But not where I am, annoyingly.

    As for the plumbing?

Well, as per the video you tweeted yesterday, isn't it time we all headed to Asia? ;-)

I have the exact same problem – it's very frustrating. I've decided that when I'm in Austin next month I'm going to find somewhere with a decent upload speed and stick EVERYTHING into my ZumoDrive cloud or personal S3 account once and for all…

Ewan, I'm pretty sure you'll get faster uploads in Japan than in the US :)
