As soon as they figured out we were from Canada we were dead to them. <br>So I began messing with the Storm (checked which firmware the working display unit had) and trying out the Verizon data network etc.<br>The staff stayed away from us except to make sure the accessories were locked by where we were standing. We also overheard the staff talking about "how awesome the iPhone" was on our way out.<br>If I knew you could buy the Strom on a month to month for under $500 I would of picked one up. Worth getting unlocked and using on one of our 2 national CDMA providers.<br>My two points are the North American mobile industry is too concerned with selling the 2/3 yr contract and too obsessed with the iPhone. <br>As a former manager of a wireless store I know the hardest sell is the 3 year contract. People make purchases based on a $5 difference in a voice plan not which company has the best service and network. Sad really.<br>I would be willing to pay more monthly and buy my own device just to be contract fee. Sick I know.<br><br>Also I stopped by the AT&T store and pulled out my E71 and asked "I heard you're getting these in black. When can I pick one up?" The sales person gave me a look like I pulled out a Treo 650 or something and unenthusiastically replied "next few weeks maybe".<br>All about the iPhone.
